COMMANDERS OFF THIS WEEKEND DUE TO FORFEIT GAME.

The Commanders will get some much need rest this weekend as the Georgia Knights forfeits the home game for the Commanders. The knights disclosed reason as to why the forfeited game. The Commanders are now 5-1 and has sole possession of 4th place in the NDFL. The Commanders will be on the road to Myrtle Beach next saturday, April 21 to take on the Matadors of the USFL. Commanders will return home on May 5th 4:00pm @ Commanders Stadium on Xfinity Field FOR THE RED ROCKER CLASSIC as we get ready for the Atlanta Bandits. FREE ADMISSION THAT DAY...

 

COMMANDERS UPSETS UNDEFEATED GLYNN COUNTY 18-16

Commanders wins over the unbeaten Revolutions 18-16. The Commanders defense started the game with a 99 yard td interception by db# 22 Twen Williams for a 6-0 lead in the 1st qt. The Revolution countered with a 5 yd td  run making the score 8-6. The Commanders defense scored again just before half time  when Dt #81 Richard Deleston picked up a fumble at the revolution 4 yd and scored giving the commanders a 12-8 lead at the half. The 2nd half started with both teams defenses dominating The quarter. In the 4th qt with 4:53 the revolution score on a 12 yard td run making the score 16-12. The Commanders offence got on the field with 0:36 on the game clock mounting a fierce and dramatic push for the end zone. Qb #8 Jamal Gordon threw two passes to wr # 3 Courtney Downard one for 12 yards and another for 8 placing the ball at mid field with 0:18. Qb Jamal Gordon then found #5 wr Fred Lewis across the middle of the field for a 15 yard pass at the 40 yard line that resulted in a catch and run For 31 yards placing the ball at the 4 yard line with :03 on the clock. The clock nearly  ran out when the Revolution called a time out with :01 due to a player being offsides. The Commanders Qb Jamal Gordon threw a 4 td pass to wr Fred Lewis to lift the commanders to victory in dramatic fashion and complete  pandemonium with the final score being 18-16. The commanders move to 4-1 on the season. Players of the game : # 5 WR Fred Lewis , # 8 QB Jamal Gordon, and defensive player of the game # 22 DB Twen Williams



COMMANDERS WINS IN HONOR OF TRAVON MARTIN OVER VALDOSTA 19-12

The 2012 Commanders did what no other Commanders team did, and that is winning 3 home games in a row and producing a 3-1 record best in team history. The Commanders defeated the Valdosta Hawks 19-12 after almost blowing a 13 point lead in the 4th quarter to a very good Hawks team. The Commanders took an early 7-0 lead in 1st quarter when WR # 5 Fred lewis III scored on a 5 yard pass from QB # 8 Jamal Gordon. WR Lewis also scored on a special teams punt return for 73 yards in the 2nd quarter making the halftime score 13-6. WR Lewis would return another punt return for a TD but it was called back on a personal foul call never the less, QB # 8 Jamal Gordon hooked up with WR # 13 Kevin Shine on a 47 yard TD bomb early in the 4th quarter making the score 19-6. The Hawks would attempt a late surge scoring a TD in the 4th making the score 19-12 that would be the final after the Commanders defense stop the Hawks with 0:03 seconds at the goal line. The 3-1 Commanders will be on the road next week vs Glenn County Revolution. Congrads to Commanders players of the game WR # 5 Fred Lewis III and DE # 86 Richard Deleston.

COMMANDERS HONORS TRAVON MARTIN AND THE ALUMNI'S OF WALTERBORO HIGH SCHOOL THIS WEEKEND AT OUR GAME

 

COMMANDERS LOSE BIG IN ATLANTA TO THE TITANS 20-6. FALLS TO 2-1 ON THE SEASON

The Commanders started out with a 6-0 lead when QB # 8 Jamal Gordon found wide out # 80 Parris Croft wide open in the end zone late in the 1st Qt. The game became a defensive struggle until late in the 2nd Qt when the referees made a Controversial pass interference call on the 2 yard line with 0:00 on the clock that gave the Titans a 7-6 lead at halftime. The Commanders never recovered after that losing 20-6 falling to 2-1 on the season. The Commanders will be @ home next Saturday against a good Valdosta team 4:00pm Commanders Stadium on Xfinity Comcast Field. Help the Commanders get 500 or more paid fans and one lucky person will win $250.

 

COMMANDERS WINS OVER THE KNIGHTS 12-7

The Commanders move to a team record 2-0 in the league after beating the Georgia Knights 12-7 Saturday afternoon. The Commanders got on the scoreboard first in the 1st qt when QB # 8 Jammal Gordan hooked up with WR#28 Rashard Singleton 38 yard TD pass making the score 6-0 after a missed extra point attempt. The Knights scored late in the 2nd qt on a 3 yard run by RB #34 making the halftime score Knights 7 Commanders 6. In the 3rd qt. the Commanders defence took over holding the Knights out of the end zone for the rest of the game, the Commanders offence scored again when QB # 17 Jamal Deleston threw a 27 yard TD pass to WR # 5 Fred Lewis III making the final score 12-7. The Commanders are on the road next week @ the Atlanta Titans and will return home March 31 vs Valdosta Hawks game time 4:00pm

COMMANDERS WIN BIG OVER SAVANNAH 25-0 SATURDAY NIGHT.

The Walterboro Commanders began the season with a bang winning its first home football game of 2012 season by defeating the Savannah Raiders 25-0. In the 1st Qt. Commanders drove down the field scoring first on a 40 yard TD run by #21 RB Carron Trotter and extra point kick by PK # 14 Headley Parker. Also in the 1st Qt Commanders scored on a 20 yard catch and run by RB # 28 Rashard Singleton, extra point failed making the score 13-0 and that would be the halftime score. At halftime, the Commanders presented an official Commanders jersey to the School Superintendent Mrs. Williams. In the 3rd Quarter the Commanders Defense totally dominated the rest of the game.The offence scored 2 more times once on a 47 yard TD pass from QB # 8 Jamal Gordon to WR # 5 Fred Lewis III and a 22 yard TD pass from QB # 8 Jamal Gordon to WR # 3 Courtney Downard making the final score Commanders 25 Savannah 0. Commanders are back home next week taking on the Georgia Knights @ 4:00pm Colleton County Family Day.

COMMANDERS TRAINING CAMP UPDATE..

The Walterboro Commanders open training camp on saturday with 40 active players enlisted on contracts. The team also picked up free agents DB 6'3 205lbs Tywen Williams and DB 5'9 167lbs Precise Manigault. The Commanders will be in action Monday, Jan 16 1:00pm in Savannah Ga. for the MLK preseason game in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.

 

COMMANDERS CHANGE TEAM NAME

The South Carolina Commanders changes name from SC Commanders to the Walterboro Commanders Pro Football Team. The Commanders in the summer of 2011 moved to its new home in Walterboro, SC after several attempts to find a steady home stadium in the Charleston area but was unable to. The Commanders then moved into its new home in June of 2011 successfully winning its first league Conference championship. The Walterboro Commanders love its new home and is looking to overwhelm its community, fans, businesses, and supporters by giving them the very best their new team can offer. We love our new community and we promise lots of championships and community building.

COMMANDERS WINS DIVISIONAL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIP 32-23 OVER CHARLOTTE SATURDAY NIGHT.

The Commanders won the SAFLS Divisional Conference Championship Game in Charlotte, NC on Saturday night 32-23 over the defending league champions Charlotte Knights. The Commanders advances to the league championship game in Myrtle Beach, SC on October 22nd.
